言 (ごんべん) on the left marks a connection with words and speech: 謀 is a plan, 諭 is to admonish, and 諾 is consent. The family ranges from deception in 詐 to a vow in 誓; 獄 also contains 言, but its prison meaning is not simply a speech meaning.

謀, 諭, 謡 have 16 strokes each; 誓 and 獄 have 14, 詐 12, 諾 15, 謙 17, 該 13, and 訂 9. Keep the left 言 narrow.
