Plants: 艹 (2)

艹 (くさかんむり), from the older form 艸, sits above the character and often marks plants. 芳 and 薫 describe fragrance, while 芽, 苗, 蓮, and 萩 name plant growth or species; 菌 is a fungus or germ, not a plant in the strict sense.

芳 has 7 strokes, 芽 and 苗 8 each, 荘 9, 菌 11, 萩 12, 墓 and 蓮 13 each, and 薫 16. Keep the two 艹 strokes balanced across the top.
